About the Siebel Enterprise name

The following naming conventions apply when we select a name for our new Siebel Enterprise:

• The name must not be longer than 12 characters
• Alphanumeric characters and underscores are allowed
• No special characters such as hyphens or dashes are allowed
• The name should reflect the purpose of the Siebel Enterprise (for example "SIEBEL_DEV" indicates a development environment)

The first three conventions are actively validated by the Siebel Configuration Wizard and error messages are prompted when the Enterprise name entered violates any of the rules.
