What do they mean?

bore令人厭煩verb；令人厭煩的事／人noun

用作動詞時，bore指“因單調、囉嗦或乏味而令人厭煩”；用作名詞時，它指“做起來毫無樂趣的事”，也指“說掃興話的人”。

• Reading bores me-I prefer to watch TV.

讀書使我感到沉悶—我寧願看電視。

• Cleaning out the stables is a bit of a bore, but the riders have to do it.
