What do they mean?

active（身體）運動着、活動着／積極adjective

active表示“不停活動着”，反義詞為“inactive”。

• We must stay active in order to keep warm.

為了保暖，我們必須不斷活動。

• Tom is not very active at work, as he spends most of the day sitting in front of a computer.

湯姆上班時不怎樣活動，因他大部份時間都坐在電腦前工作。

activate使……操作verb

to activate something的意思是“使……操作或工作”。

• Press this button to activate the machine.

按一下按鈕，使機器操作起來。

actively活躍、積極adverb

actively表示“忙碌”、“積極”。

• Mr Jones actively supports the local football team.

鍾斯先生積極支持本地足球隊。

activity活動noun

用作可數名詞時，activity指“一般人為了娛樂而做的事”；用作不及物動詞時，它指“活動狀態”。

• Sue and Kate enjoy the same leisure activities.
