The Insert and Tools groups
The Insert group contains various visualization options such as Chart, Info Field, and Filter:
- Chart: This feature allows you to enable/insert dynamic charts
- Info Field: Basic information such as name can be inserted through this tab
- Filter: This tab is useful for simple data filtering.
Dynamic charts—these are charts that gets updated dynamically. The key is to define the chart's source data as a dynamic range. By doing so, the chart will automatically reflect changes and additions to the source data.
The Tools group contains a collection of tools such as Smart Copy, Smart Paste, and Convert to Formula, which can act as shortcuts and come in handy for frequent tasks:
- Convert to Formula: This is used for extracting Excel formulas after they have been converted from the crosstab to fetch data
- Smart Copy: This field can be used to copy data from the clipboard
- Smart Paste: This tab allows you to paste the data source from the clipboard as a table
- Save View: A data source can be saved as a view using this option
