PendingDelete – day 90 (5 days)

Finally, after 45 days in the redemption period, the registry sends the domain into its final state before it's eventual deletion: PendingDelete. As usual, this status will be visible in the DomainStatus field of WHOIS. Take a look at this:

Domain Name: EXAMPLEEXPIRY.COM
Registrar: EASYDNS TECHNOLOGIES INC.
Sponsoring Registrar IANA ID: 469 Whois Server: whois.easydns.com Referral URL: http://www.easydns.com Name Server: DNS1.EASYDNS.COM
Name Server: DNS2.EASYDNS.NET
Name Server: DNS3.EASYDNS.CA
Status: pendingDelete https://icann.org/epp#pendingDelete Updated Date: 25-apr-2017
Creation Date: 15-mar-2011 Expiration Date: 15-mar-2017

A domain in PendingDelete status cannot be renewed or redeemed; it's too late for any of that.

After five days in PendingDelete, the domain will finally be deleted and available for reregistration by anybody. If the domain has any marginal value (but somehow got through the registrar's expiry-stream mining), then the "drop-catchers" will now converge and the domain will be reregistered within a few milliseconds.
