The domain has expired and is in a grace period. The domain does not resolve across the internet—or it may be delegated to interim nameservers set by your registrar that intercepts your DNS and outputs a landing page ("The domain you are trying to reach has expired"). In most cases, the domain may still be renewed in the normal fashion and doing so will restore normal operations and DNS resolution almost immediately.
